Join me at my home/studio in North Herefordshire, near Presteigne, for a design and creative workshop day.
 
I'm combining my design and creative workshops into one social day of creativity and design discussion
 
First there’ll be an opportunity to explore the house and garden, a chance to chat about the creative life that has led us here and all of our creative pursuits. Feel free to take photographs whilst you’re here.
 
The creative element:
 
As we take our seats around the table in our Medieval hall you’ll each create a hand bound book from a sheaf of papers. You can choose to use this as a notebook for the design inspiration we’ll be working through or a set of block printed pages to print as we talk, or perhaps a combination of both. We’ll take a little time to carve stamps, create patterns and hand stitch the bindings.
 
Pattern making is quite a meditative process, it requires no previous experience and each outcome is fascinatingly individual and surprising. 
 
The design part:
 
'We aim to create homes and spaces that feel like they’ve always been there; well settled and appropriate within their architecture; using sustainable, natural, breathable, reused materials and traditional detailing'
 
The design element of this workshop will be all about how we do just that; the skills and materials we use; the influences that guide us; the layers that make up the whole.
 
Our home is a good example to illustrate all these details so the day will be spent exploring the house and the design decisions within it. 
 
We’ll provide a simple lunch of fresh bread, cheese and fruit plus refreshments throughout the day. If you have any dietary needs please let me know once you have booked.
 
Places are limited, this will be a small group of no more than 7 people.
 
All the information you need about the day will be sent via email in advance of the workshop date.
 
Please note: As our location is quite remote it is possible that weather can hamper plans. If for any reason I have to cancel or reschedule the workshop I will offer an alternative date or a full refund. If however you decide you can no longer attend the workshop I do not offer refunds in this circumstance but I’ll be happy to transfer your place to a future workshop, subject to availability.
