These diminutive plates are dreams of the past. A past that is local, modest, frugal and domestic. They speak of the things that are to hand and the things that are familiar but they whisper of wider dreams.

Drawn from an obsession with time’s colouration; the fragility of textile fragments; the historically acceptable forms of female expression and creativity; and the quiet stories stitched through layers of domesticity.

As with my pieces made for vintage frames, here the frame comes first. The charm of the traditional passpartout bound glass plate style and the reuse of redundant salvaged glass come together to make these one off, individually numbered pieces.
