The Souvenir Series: Memories of Half Imagined Places
 
These diminutive pieces are dreams of the past; nostalgic for times and places. Each piece is a maker's embellishment of an elusive intangible moment, redolent of the awkward charm of a souvenir, with the historic textile influences common to all my works. 
 
Drawn from an obsession with time’s colouration; the fragility of textile fragments; the historically acceptable forms of female expression and creativity; and the quiet stories stitched through layers of domesticity.
 
As with my pieces made for vintage frames, here the frame comes first. The charm of the traditional passpartout bound glass plate style and the reuse of redundant salvaged glass come together to make these one off, individually numbered pieces.

The souvenir series of plates is a work in progress, if you wish to secure a piece you may order these ahead of completion. I will ask you to reconfim your order once the items are finished.
 
Ink and pencil on paper, when finished these will be mounted on glass using reclaimed vintage panes including retained patina, with bound edges including delicate hanging loop.
